NITI Aayog Sanctions ₹1.55 Crore to RISE Centre in NTR District to Boost Women-Led Rural Entrepreneurship

NTR District, Andhra Pradesh – In a major push towards strengthening rural livelihoods and women-led enterprises, NITI Aayog has sanctioned ₹1.55 crore to the RISE (Rural Innovations, Incubation, Skilling and Entrepreneurship) Centre in NTR District. The initiative, announced by District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha, aims to accelerate skill development, foster entrepreneurship, and integrate advanced technologies into rural ecosystems.
Driving Women Empowerment Through Entrepreneurship
At the heart of this initiative is the vision of “One Family – One Entrepreneur.” The RISE Centre focuses on empowering women, particularly those from Self-Help Groups (SHGs), by equipping them with market-relevant skills and providing structured support to start and scale their enterprises.
This approach not only enhances financial independence but also contributes to inclusive economic growth in rural India.
AI-Driven Skill Development for Rural Transformation
A key highlight of the initiative is the introduction of AI-based skill surveys and modern training methodologies. By leveraging artificial intelligence, the program identifies local skill gaps and aligns training programs with emerging industry demands.
Training modules span a wide range of domains, including:
  1. Artificial Intelligence and digital literacy
  2. Spoken English and communication skills
  3. Micro food processing
  4. Solar panel installation
  5. Driving and logistics
  6. Handicrafts and paper-based products
This integration of technology ensures that rural youth and women are future-ready and competitive in evolving job markets.
Comprehensive Ecosystem for Enterprise Growth
The RISE Centre offers an end-to-end support system designed to nurture entrepreneurship from ideation to execution. Key services include:
  1. Idea incubation and mentoring
  2. Skill development and certification
  3. Placement assistance
  4. Banking and financial linkages
  5. Digital commerce and market access
Such a holistic ecosystem bridges the gap between skill acquisition and income generation, making entrepreneurship more accessible and sustainable.
Significant Impact on Rural Livelihoods
The initiative has already delivered measurable outcomes:
  1. 1,000+ women trained across multiple skill domains
  2. 300+ rural enterprises launched, creating local employment opportunities
  3. Regular job melas, workshops, and digital training programs conducted in collaboration with partner institutions
These achievements highlight the effectiveness of targeted investments in transforming rural communities into vibrant economic hubs.
A Scalable Model for Rural India
The RISE Centre initiative stands out as a replicable model for rural development across India. By combining skill development, entrepreneurship, and technology, it aligns with national priorities such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, Digital India, and Skill India.
As India continues to focus on inclusive growth, such initiatives demonstrate how empowering women and leveraging innovation can drive sustainable development at the grassroots level.
