Scope of Work

The selected organisation(s) will be required to implement awareness, education, training and documentation activities under the grant period. The major scope includes:

1. Community Awareness Programmes

The implementing organisation will conduct structured awareness sessions in villages, urban slums and underserved communities on female gendercide, sex-selective abortion, female infanticide, neglect, child marriage, trafficking, child labour, abuse, abandonment, girl child rights and gender-based violence prevention.

2. Training for Adolescent Groups

The project will include educational sessions, workshops and campaigns with adolescent groups to build awareness about gender discrimination and empower young people to challenge gender-biased attitudes.

3. School and College Programmes

Interactive workshops will be conducted in government and private schools and colleges on child marriage prevention, trafficking prevention, POCSO Act awareness and gender equality.

4. Sensitisation of Government Personnel

The organisation will conduct structured training for police personnel, Women’s Help Desk officers, Social Welfare Department staff, District Child Protection Officers, Child Welfare Committee members and other relevant functionaries.

5. Documentation and Reporting

The selected organisation must maintain records of sessions, beneficiaries, attendance, outcomes, photographs and case studies. Monthly progress reports and a final comprehensive report must be submitted to Invisible Girl Project.

Priority Geographies

IGP encourages proposals from organisations with operational presence in districts and states where female gendercide, sex-selective practices, child marriage, trafficking or adverse child sex ratio indicators are significant.

Organisations from other states may also apply if they can demonstrate strong local evidence of need and operational capacity.

Pre-Qualification and Eligibility Criteria

Applicant organisations must meet the following mandatory eligibility conditions:

Legal Registration

The organisation must be registered under one of the following:

  1. Societies Registration Act, 1860
  2. Indian Trusts Act, 1882
  3. Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013

The organisation must also have valid PAN, 12A and 80G certificates.

FCRA Compliance

Valid FCRA registration is mandatory. The organisation must have a designated FCRA Bank Account with the State Bank of India, Main Branch, New Delhi. FC-4 returns must be filed and up to date for all preceding years.

Organisations whose FCRA registration has been suspended, cancelled or placed under scrutiny by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the past five years will not be eligible.

Experience Requirement

The applicant must have at least three years of demonstrable experience in girl child rights, children’s rights, women’s empowerment, community awareness, training or capacity-building activities.

Preference will be given to organisations with established linkages with government departments such as Police, Social Welfare and Child Protection systems.

Operational Capacity

The organisation must have:

  1. Dedicated team of at least three full-time staff members relevant to the project
  2. Active presence in the proposed target district(s) or state
  3. Capacity for financial management, reporting and accountability

Safeguarding Requirements

The organisation must have:

  1. Documented Child Protection Policy
  2. POSH Policy
  3. Internal Complaints Committee
  4. Background verification process for staff and volunteers working with children
  5. Safe reporting mechanism for safeguarding concerns
  6. Designated safeguarding focal point

Organisations without Child Protection Policy and POSH Policy will not be considered eligible.

Financial Criteria

The applicant organisation must have audited financial statements for the last three financial years.

The annual turnover must be at least ₹5,00,000 and must not exceed ₹1,50,00,000 in each of the last three years.

There should be no pending legal proceedings, blacklisting or debarment from any government or donor agency.

Administrative and overhead costs must not exceed 10% of the total grant as per the financial proposal requirement. The grant details section also refers to overhead costs not exceeding 15%; applicants should follow the stricter 10% requirement while preparing the proposal.
